How to Add an Access Code to a Premium Metal Wireless Keypad

Overview

In this article you will learn how to add an access code to a premium metal wireless keypad. An access code is used to operate the gate. The premium metal wireless keypad is capable of holding up to 256 different access codes. An access code can be up to 5 digits long. If the desired access code is less than 5 digits, it must end with a "#" sign. The "#" is a part of the access code. An example of this process will be provided at the end of the article.

Applies to Part Number(s)

  1. 050551

Procedure

Enter the Master Password Then Press 9

The default master password is "11111". The keypad will give 2 short beeps if this step is done correctly. If you get a long beep at this step, your master password may be incorrect.
To reset the master password back to the default, refer to this article: How to Reset the Master Password Back to Default on a Premium Metal Wireless Keypad

Enter the Desired Access Code and Then Press 9

If the desired access code is less than 5 digits, it must end with a "#" sign.
Example codes: "24680" "4321#" "25#".

Re-enter the Desired Access Code and Then Press 1 (channel#)

The keypad will gives 2 short beeps indicating the code has been added successfully. Pressing 1 at the end of this step selects channel 1 for the access code. If you already have a code in the keypad and need the new code to behave differently from the original, press 2 in place of the 1 to select channel 2 instead.
Type the new code in and confirm the keypad rapidly beeps.

Pair Keypad to Receiver

Proceed to pairing the keypad to the receiver.
If your keypad is already paired with your receiver, this step is not necessary. Only proceed with this step if you are adding your first code.

Example

The access code in this example will be "3544#", the master password is the default, and the code will be added to channel 1.
After each key press you must move quickly to the next. If you wait too long before the next key press, the keypad will exit programming mode and you will need to start over. We recommend writing down the example below using your own values before beginning the process. This will help you do the process quickly, ensuring the keypad doesn't time out and exit programming.
