Procedure
Wiring the Knox/Fire Box Emergency Open Switch
The Knox/Fire Box Emergency Open Switch will have two or three wires coming from it. Use the "NO" and "Com" wires if it has 3 wires. Wire them to the green J2 terminal block at the bottom of the board as follows:
Knox/Fire Box Wire | J2 Terminal Pin # |
Normally Open (NO) | Pin #9 |
Common (C/Com) | Pin #2 or #7 |
Testing the Knox/Fire Box Emergency Open Switch
With the gate in the closed position, go open/trigger the Knox/Fire Box Emergency Open Switch. The gate should open once the box is put into the triggered position and remain open as long as the box is kept in the triggered position. If the gate does not open at this time, try reversing the wires at the circuit board. Swap the wire from J2 pin 9 into J2 pin 2 or 7 and the wire from J2 pin 2 or 7 into J2 pin 9. Call technical support at (972) 221-7000 if it still does not open the gate.
