How to Unpair a Premium Metal Wireless Keypad from the Receiver

Overview

In this article you will learn how to unpair a premium wireless keypad from the radio receiver. The radio receiver is located inside the opener's cabinet.  The code will be entered on the keypad at the same time as a button on the radio receiver is pressed. This requires dismounting the keypad or having a second person to enter the code into the keypad where it's mounted. An example of this process will be provided at the end of the article.

Applies to Part Numbers(s)

  1. 050551

What You Need

  1. Included key to remove keypad
    1. A second person can be used in place of removing the keypad
  2. A long and narrow tool of some sort (paperclip, tooth pick, etc..)

Procedure

Enter the Access Code and Hold Down the Last Digit

The keypad will rapidly beep once the last digit is pressed. The gate will operate at this time, this is expected. Continue holding the last digit and proceed to the next step.

Press and Hold P1 or P2 on the Radio Receiver Using the Narrow Tool

Use P1 if the code being forgotten is to open and/or close the gate.
Use P2 if the code being forgotten is to latch the gate open.
Make sure the last digit of the code is being held while doing this step. Once the green LED on the receiver turns on, the receiver should forget the access code. Continue holding the buttons until the green LED turns off. Let go of both buttons and test the access code again. It should no longer operate the gate. If the gate continues to operate from the access code, start over at step 1.

Example

The code used in this example is "1234#".
After each key press you must move quickly to the next. If you wait too long before the next key press, the keypad will exit programming mode and you will need to start over. We recommend writing down the example below using your own values before beginning the process. This will help you do the process quickly, ensuring the keypad doesn't time out and exit programming.
  1. Enter the access code and hold down the last digit
    1. 1234, hold down #
    2. Keypad will rapidly beep and the gate will operate
  2. While # is being held (last digit), press and hold P1 on the radio receiver
    1. Hold down P1
    2. The green LED should illuminate.
    3. Once the green LED turns off, let go of both buttons.
  3. The keypad has been unpaired from the receiver. Type the code in to confirm it no longer makes the gate operate.
