How to Replace the Battery in a Premium Metal Wireless Keypad

In this article you will learn how to replace the battery on a premium wireless keypad. The keypad uses one CR123A battery. Replacing the battery can solve issues where the keypad is lighting up and beeping, but the gate does not operate.

What You Need

  1. Key to remove the keypad from housing (CH751)
  2. Small Phillip's head screw driver
  3. New CR123A battery

Procedure

Remove and Open the Keypad

  1. Unlock the keypad.
  2. Lift the keypad up and away to remove it.
  3. Loosen the 4 Phillip's head screws and remove the internal back plate.

Replace the Battery

  1. Remove the original battery.
  2. Install the new one in its place.

Close and Remount the Keypad

  1. Set the internal backplate into place and secure it using the 4 Phillip's head screws.
  2. Set the keypad back into the housing.
  3. Lock the keypad into place.
