How to Pair a Wireless Transmitter to the Receiver
Overview
In this article you will learn how to pair a wireless transmitter to the radio receiver. The dipswitches inside the remote need to be set to a unique combination before this process is done. The pairing process is only required if you don't already have a remote that is paired. If you already have a remote paired to the receiver, changing the new remote's dipswitches to match an already-paired remote will pair the new remote. Steps will be given for each of these processes.
Ensure that the dipswitches in the remote are not all set in the down position before pairing. If a remote set this way is paired to the receiver, it's possible that someone else's remote may open your gate.

What You Need
- A long and narrow tool of some sort (paperclip, tooth pick, etc.) if pairing the first remote.
- A remote that is already paired if adding additional remotes beyond the first.
Procedure
For Systems Without a Remote Already Paired
- Open the door at the bottom of the remote.
- Randomize the dipswitches from their default positions.
- Press and hold the button on the remote you wish to pair.
- While holding the remote button, use the narrow tool to press and hold P1 or P2.
- Use P1 if the desired behavior is to open and/or close the gate.
- Use P2 if the desired behavior is to latch the gate open.
- The receiver should 'click' and the gate should operate, indicating a successful pair. Let go of both buttons at this time.
- Press the remote button to confirm it makes the gate operate.
For Systems With a Remote Already Paired
- Open the door at the bottom of the new remote.
- Open the door at the bottom of the already-paired remote.
- Change the switches in the new remote to match those of the already-paired remote.
- The new remote should now operate the gate the same as the already-paired remote.
- Press the button on the new remote to confirm it makes the gate operate.
- If the gate does not operate, ensure the switches are matching. Each switch has 3 positions, make sure there aren't any switches in the middle position that should be up or down.
